(European Commission projects on Skills Development in Tourism)
The presentation describes the projects implemented by the European Commission in order to develop those skills required by the tourism industry.
The data of the Blueprint study provide information related to the enterprises expectations in the tourism sector with regards to the skills and qualifications that are necessary for candidates willing to work in tourism and improve their job position. Other instruments and initiatives undertaken by the EU Commission to facilitate the process of development of skills, are presented.
During the meeting, the project Next Tourism Generation Alliance is presented. The project of higher tourism education focuses on several areas such as digital, green, socio-cultural, marketing, sustainability, and intepersonal communication. This is related to several segments of the tourism offer such as Accommodation, Food and Beverage, Territorial development, travel agents, Tour Operators and Destination Management.
