.At the ribbon-cutting ceremony the undersecretary for Tourism Lorenza Bonaccorsi: ´Tourism is one of the country´s great industries, we must work to qualify what we offer tourists´

Rimini Expo Centre, 9th - 11th October 2019

Rimini, 9th October 2019 . A crowd worthy of great occasions today for the inauguration of TTG Travel Experience, SIA Hospitality Design and SUN Beach & Outdoor Style, the three Italian Exhibition Group expos dedicated to the Travel Industry, running until Friday 11th October at Rimini Expo Centre.
IEG president Lorenzo Cagnoni began, ´Three international exhibitions linked by a program in which Italian Exhibition Group has managed to bringing together all the great protagonists of analyses and thinking on what will inspire future tourism demand.´ Cagnoni also reminded how the three expos have a lengthy history: the 56th edition for TTG, 68th for SIA and 37th for SUN. Three exhibitions that together ´give a complete insight on all the issues linked with tourism.´ And which, thanks to their unification and growth through the years, currently occupy the entire expo centre. Hence the decision of the Board of Directors of IEG ´to give the go-ahead to a program of development of the dimensions of the expo centre, with an expansion for even greater effectiveness and versatility.´

Rimini mayor Andrea Gnassi continued, ´This trade fair serves to confirm that Italy needs an industrial perspective. The various governments aside, serious thought must go into tourism, which is to all effects a great national and European industry. But it has never been considered as such, rather as a sector. On the contrary, Emilia Romagna and Rimini have chosen tourism as one of their strategic industries.´

In the words of Andrea Corsini, Emilia-Romagna Regional councillor for Tourism, ´The season of trade fairs starts with TTG and Rimini - a new season characterized by innovation. Emilia-Romagna has made innovation and strategy the assets of its tourism operations. This has enabled us to make tourism a fundamental resource, which represents 13 percent of the gross domestic product, with its 55,000 enterprises that give work to over 400,000 people. And since we want to continue to grow, we have innovated and highlighted our tourism facilities with products such as the Motor Valley and the Food Valley, expressions of excellent Italian-made products worldwide.´
´TTG is an important place not only because all the tourist industry members meet here, but above all for the participation of hundreds of international buyers´, stated Enit president Giorgio Palmucci. As far as the organization he leads is concerned, he said, ´We are trying to work along with the regions, embassies and chambers of commerce, with the intent of being catalysers, because we will certainly see the industry grow only if we work together.´ An industry that in our country´s trade balance ended 2018 positively, with +16 million euros. Therefore, regarding incoming tourism, for the president of Enit, the password is ´winning the loyalty of even more tourists from the widest possible range of countries.´
´The spirit with which we must work and shall continue to work is that of pulling together´, concluded the Undersecretary of State for Cultural Heritage and Activities with responsibility for Tourism, Lorenza Bonaccorsi. ´We must be increasingly aware that tourism is one of Italy´s great industries, working to qualify what hospitality facilities have to offer and boost the combination of tourism and culture that makes us really great worldwide.´

In fact, the edition that opened today in Rimini is an edition with a strong international accent. As well as the 130 destination represented at the expo in ´The World´ area, there is also the busy schedule of appointments in the World Arena, an integral part of the Think Future program.
