Elizabeth Francis
Architect
An Irish architect based in Bologna, she studied architecture at University College Dublin where she graduated with honors in 1993.
Her firm Atelier Francis Srl cultivates cultural ties internationally through architecture and design projects, consulting for private and public clients, and curating events and exhibitions. Prior to opening her own firm, she gained extensive experience in the construction industry while partnering with MCA Mario Cucinella Architects in France and then in Italy.
In the past, she has held positions as Commissioner of the Irish Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Supervisor for Ireland at Expo Milano 2015, and chair of the International Women's Forum Bologna'.
She is co-founder of Meme Exchange, a cultural association promoting sustainable urban regeneration, and is currently Lead Assessor for Architecture for the Arts Council of Ireland and a board member of the Emilia-Romagna Delegation of ADI Association for Industrial Design.
